Conteur was founded in 2011 (originally GD PR & Media) by David Huckerby and Gillian Davies and has gone on to establish a reputation as a leading provider of care home marketing services.
A bit about David Huckerby...
David’s first experience of the care sector was when his parents bought an elderly care home in rural Gloucestershire, where he lived from the age of five until he left for university.
Despite moving more into business and management at university, David ended up back in the sector working as part of the marketing team for a large residential care provider. He went on to work as a Business Development Manager for a small group of learning disability services, before taking on a role as Registered Manager for a national domiciliary care provider, which he held for five years.
When he co-founded Conteur, David was keen to use his in-depth knowledge and experience of the care sector to support providers with their marketing and communications and continue to positively promote a sector that he is passionate about.
This experience has seen David invited to speak at a number of high profile industry events including the Care Show and the Care Forum, as well as writing numerous thought leadership articles for leading sector publications and judging for the Great British Care Awards.
