The need for video, no matter who you are, is booming at the moment and we’re seeing lots of evidence of that through our packed out video timetable.
Simon (Video Production Manager) and his team have never been so busy and there is such a buzz of creativity in the GD PR & Media office.
The news today that tax reliefs for the film and television industry have reached record levels is certainly welcome news.
As a small but growing company, any tax breaks are always welcome as we juggle growing a business with the highs and lows of cash flow. Knowing that the government is appreciative of the creative sector and it’s benefits is certainly reassuring.
The tax reliefs are set to deliver a multibillion pound boost to the industry with an estimated £632 million of tax credits seeding £3.2 billion of direct product spending over the course of 2016 – that’s a 17% increase on the previous year according to the BFI (British Film Institute).
Chancellor Philip Hammond said the government was ‘committed to supporting our highly-skilled and innovative creative industries through creative sector tax reliefs.’
Mr Hammond mentioned shows like The Crown and Peppa Pig saying ‘our creative industries are intrinsic to the rich cultural fabric of the UK’.
