Welcoming our first Digital Marketing Apprentice

As a creative agency, we are passionate about bringing fresh ideas and perspectives into our growing team.

We recently welcomed Eleanor Inge, 21, to the team as our first ever Digital Marketing Apprentice!

We were so impressed by Eleanor’s enthusiasm, positivity and can-do attitude, that we knew she would be a great fit and a valuable addition to our growing Digital Marketing team.
Getting digital marketing right is critical to all businesses right now and we’re proud to work with so many fantastic organisations across areas such as Social Media, SEO and Pay-Per-Click advertising.

Speaking about her new Apprenticeship, Eleanor said:

“After leaving education at 17, I had spent the last few years of my life cleaning and working in hospitality. In 2019, I made a decision that changed my life. I joined the Be Your Own Boss course run by the Malvern Business Academy. Through the course, I gained confidence and the drive to get back into education, with the added bonus of getting to meet Peter Jones (Dragons Den) at the graduation event.

At the beginning of 2020 I was excited to get my career started, however, along with everyone else, lockdown delayed that. Although this was hard for me, I was able to spend quality time with my daughter; which I am forever grateful for. It also allowed me the time to reflect and think deeper about what I wanted to do with my life in order to support my little girl and I.

Throughout the course, I had developed a great rapport with our course leader, Beryl. With her fantastic mentorship, she helped make connections, form new opportunities and talk with me further about my ideas . The minute she showed me Conteur’s website, I was hooked. Not only was it a creative, adept and trustworthy company; it aligned with my beliefs about the importance of social and community care, compassion and heart in all things that you do.
After meeting with Gillian and David, I felt a huge amount of respect and admiration for them. When they were open to the idea of creating an apprenticeship opportunity for me, I was over the moon.

Digital Marketing had never been in my thought process before when considering career paths, but once I had been provided the right information and resources, I was really fascinated. There were aspects of psychology, mathematics, creativity and planning which really fit with my interests and passions. I also loved the fact that I could develop skills in subjects like web design and search engine optimisation (SEO). Having a career that was people centred had always been very important to me, and I felt I had found that here.

After this, things moved quickly with the help of Heart of Worcester college who, along with Conteur, set up my apprenticeship even with all the pressures and confusion of the current lockdown.

I think starting a new job can be nerve wracking for anyone. Especially when you’re spending only a brief time with new colleagues through a screen, it can be hard to gauge who people are. Yet somehow, this team has made me laugh and brought me out of my shell, all the while impressing with me their professionalism and teamwork.
I am hugely lucky to have found such exceptional employers, especially in the current climate and cannot wait to see what this apprenticeship brings moving forward!”
